This site is published for information. Using it means accepting what follows, which is mostly one idea: check the cell and the device before you buy.
Informational use only
The 84 cell records here, their codes, sizes, voltages, typical capacities and the swap verdicts computed from them, are a reference. They are not an instruction to put a particular battery in a particular device, and they are not a substitute for the manufacturer's own documentation.
Before buying or fitting a cell, check the code printed on the old one and the device's manual. Where either disagrees with this site, go with the manual and the cell, and please tell us so the data can be corrected.
Safety comes first
Where any page here carries safety information, in particular the warnings about swallowed button cells and about cells that must never be substituted for each other, that advice takes priority over anything else on the site. A verdict that says a cell fits is about size and voltage, never about whether a device or a situation is safe.
If a button or coin cell has been swallowed, treat it as an emergency and act on the safety guidance rather than on any compatibility table.
No warranty
The data is published as it is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. It is compiled from the IEC naming conventions and from manufacturers' published cross-references and datasheets, and it is checked, but errors are possible and specifications change.
To the extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for any loss or damage arising from use of this site, including damage to a device, a cell bought that turns out to be wrong, or a decision made on the strength of a page here. You use the information at your own risk.
Links to other sites
Pages here link to manufacturers, standards summaries and safety authorities. Those sites are not under this site's control, and linking to one is not an endorsement of it or of anything sold on it.

The text, the tables and the drawings on this site are its own work. Battery codes, part numbers and brand names belong to their respective owners and are used here only to identify the cells they name. Quoting a row or a verdict with a link back is welcome; republishing the dataset wholesale is not.
