357 Battery Equivalent
357 is the SR44 cell: 1.55 V silver oxide, 11.6 × 5.4 mm, so anything marked SG13, S76, EPX76 and 303 is the same battery and will fit.

What the 357 code is
357 is one of the three-digit numbers Energizer and Renata use for silver-oxide watch cells. The digits encode nothing about the size, which is why a 357 and its IEC name look unrelated.
The IEC code for the same cell is SR44: silver oxide, 1.55 V, 11.6 × 5.4 mm.
357 is the high-drain number for SR44: built for short bursts of heavier current, such as a watch with a backlight, an alarm or a chronograph. The same case size is also sold as 303, the low-drain number. Both are 1.55 V and both fit the same holder.

Upgrade or downgrade
Same size, different chemistry. Read the verdict before you buy.
| Cell | Chemistry | Voltage | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| LR44 | alkaline | 1.5 V | Downgrade Works, but runs out sooner. Avoid in watches and medical devices. |
Similar size, check the fit
Same diameter, different thickness. These are not drop-in replacements.
| Cell | Size | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| SR1116SW | 11.6 × 1.65 mm | Same 11.6 mm diameter, but 1.65 mm tall instead of 5.4 mm. Only if the holder fits; thinner cells can lose contact. |
| SR1120SW | 11.6 × 2.1 mm | Same 11.6 mm diameter, but 2.1 mm tall instead of 5.4 mm. Only if the holder fits; thinner cells can lose contact. |
| SR1126 | 11.6 × 2.6 mm | Same 11.6 mm diameter, but 2.6 mm tall instead of 5.4 mm. Only if the holder fits; thinner cells can lose contact. |
| SR1130SW | 11.6 × 3.1 mm | Same 11.6 mm diameter, but 3.1 mm tall instead of 5.4 mm. Only if the holder fits; thinner cells can lose contact. |
| SR42 | 11.6 × 3.6 mm | Same 11.6 mm diameter, but 3.6 mm tall instead of 5.4 mm. Only if the holder fits; thinner cells can lose contact. |
| SR43 | 11.6 × 4.2 mm | Same 11.6 mm diameter, but 4.2 mm tall instead of 5.4 mm. Only if the holder fits; thinner cells can lose contact. |
Do not use
These are the same size or a similar code, and they are not equivalents.

675
Zinc-air hearing-aid cell: same size, but 1.45 V, needs air holes and drains once unsealed.
357 questions
- What battery is 357?
- 357 is the SR44: a 1.55 V silver oxide cell, 11.6 × 5.4 mm, with a typical capacity of 160–175 mAh.
- Is 357 the same as SR44?
- Yes. They are two codes for one cell, so a pack marked either way holds the same battery.
- Is 357 low drain or high drain?
- 357 is the high-drain number for SR44: built for short bursts of heavier current, such as a watch with a backlight, an alarm or a chronograph. The same case size is also sold as 303, the low-drain number. Both are 1.55 V and both fit the same holder.
- What can I use instead of 357?
- Any code in the direct replacement list above. LR44 is the same size in another chemistry: Works, but runs out sooner. Avoid in watches and medical devices.
- Is 675 a 357 replacement?
- No. Zinc-air hearing-aid cell: same size, but 1.45 V, needs air holes and drains once unsealed.
- What voltage is 357?
- 1.55 V, the same as any other SR44.
